For those in the know you know that J. Russel Smith was a visionary before his time. He observed and came to the conclusion that "modern" agriculture was not sustaining in the long term back in 1929! He researched and published his book Tree Crops a Permanent Agriculture outlining how trees and their produce could be used as a direct replacement for most of our commodity crops in both human and animal diets. This groundbreaking work provided inspiration for permaculture greats along the lines of Mark Shepherd, Bill Mollison, and Paul Wheaton. I found an open source electronic version of the entire manuscript from start to finish to share with you all!!!
